Dr. Colton Kaminski was born and raised in Wisconsin and has two brothers and one sister. He attained his undergraduate prerequisites from UWSP, and his Doctor of Chiropractic and Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness from Parker College of Chiropractic.
When Dr. Colton started college he had the intent to become a nurse anesthetist, but during that time he had a paradigm shift in his concept of what it takes to be in good health. He realized that he didn’t just want to take care of sick people that were in a health crisis, but he wanted to learn how to get people well, and keep them well. And suddenly, the idea resonated with him to not just treat the symptoms, but to address the underlying cause as well.
“HE REALIZED HE DIDN’T JUST WANT TO TAKE CARE OF PEOPLE THAT WERE IN A HEALTH CRISIS, BUT HE WANTED TO LEARN HOW TO GET PEOPLE WELL, AND KEEP THEM WELL.”
Chiropractic had always been part of Colton’s family’s life in his growing years, but witnessing his mother’s own personal struggles with debilitating pain is what caused his brothers and himself, understand the power and difference good, quality chiropractic care can make.
She was hit from behind by a semi and sustained whiplash. A local chiropractor tried to help…but the results were very limited. In fact, she kept getting worse. Eventually, she was referred for neck surgery where they fused the bones together in her neck. Unfortunately, the pain relief she received didn’t last long, and it eventually worsened. Young Colton was discouraged, but he also knew that God doesn’t create junk.
Colton’s family researched multiple options and finally found a chiropractor that did more than a “typical” chiropractic visit. The Doctor was different, and so was his technique. He provided a comprehensive approach to working with the muscles, ligaments, and the structure of the spine; and in no time, his mother’s results were remarkable. Her pain decreased and her function improved drastically, allowing her to do simple tasks around the house that she thought she might never be able to do again.
“CREATING GOOD HEALTH IS MORE THAN SPINAL ADJUSTMENTS…IT’S ABOUT TREATING THE WHOLE PERSON.”
But, even with his mother’s results, Colton knew early on that creating good health is more than spinal adjustments, because even if a person has an impeccable spine but eats cookies and fast food everyday, they aren’t going to be as healthy as they could be! To be truly healthy is to address and treat each person individually—the whole person. So, he surrounded himself with the best doctors in the field, and studied nutrition, exercise, and toxicity.
Today, Doctor Colton has two mentors in life that play a significant role with how he views each patient. Each of his mentors have been in practice for over 35 years and both have waiting list to be seen, because of their results. Dr. Colton feels extremely fortunate to have them so involved in his practice and personal life and continues to develop relationships with other doctors in the field who are getting great results. The only reason for doing this is so patients get the most current, state of the art kind of care. Their entire approach is very different than most people are used to, and it’s refreshing, effective, and life changing!
