WHAT ABOUT MY INSURANCE?

Are any of the services you provide covered? Our answer is, "I don't know." There are a very large number of health care policies and it depends on the coverage you have.

What we can tell you is we do not sign contracts with insurance companies, so we are out of network for any services provided. Many of the servies performed in our office are covered if you would like to use a HSA or FSA account. We can provide a receipt for you to submit to your insurance but we will not submit anything to insurance (this is one way we are able to keep patient cost down as we don't hire an extra staff person to deal with insurance companies)

The reason Dr. Colton doesn't participate in-network with insurance companies is because he refuses let insurance companies dictate how a patient should be treated. Unfortuneately, many tests or procedures that are very helpful in getting you well are not accepted as the "standard of care" in conventional medicine and therefore not covered by insurance. The problem is our "standard of care" in the United States is not good, as evidenced by our disease rates of cancer, heart disease, diabetes, obesity, alzheimers, ect... We could say a lot more, but the important point to remember is that insurance companies are not responsible for your health, you are. We really strive to provide the best care possible but you may hire or fire Dr Colton at any time if he's not the right fit for you, it's your right as a patient.
